Poster and Flyer Distribution
Child Find, with the support of Josten's Canada, produces an annual poster which is distributed nationally. This poster features photographs of missing children, as well as the child's date of birth, and the pertinent information relating to their disappearance.
In addition, each year Child Find puts together the Missing Magazine, a compilation of missing children's photographs and information with the hope that the reader may have seen one of the children. The photos are provided exclusively to Child Find by the searching parent/guardian to assist in the location of their child(ren).
Flyers of each individual case may be distributed throughout the province and/or across Canada immediately following the registration of the missing child(ren). The distribution network includes hospitals, schools, other searching agencies, law enforcement agencies, border crossings, passport officials, etc. Fully one-third of our locates are achieved as a direct result of a member of the public seeing one of our flyers and recognizing the child(ren).

All calls are confidential and all tips are passed on to the police agency assigned to the case for action.
Media Roll Calls

All About Me, ID program
Easily our most recognizable program, local offices fingerprint children across the province. Since the inception of the program, it is estimated that over one million children have been fingerprinted across the country. All of our fingerprinters are trained by the local police and this service is free for the asking.
Children, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, are fingerprinted and the fingerprints are recorded in the ID booklet. The booklet is given to the parent and contains a detailed questionnaire for the parent to complete on their child. Such information includes medical and dental history, list of immediate family, friends and relatives, educational history, physical and mental characteristics and traits, etc. This completed document can speak to the police for a parent should their child be reported missing. This document is kept only by the parents or legal guardian.
Child Find Online
On May 25th, 1995, Child Find introduced the fully bilingual CF Online/En direct to the world. In addition to missing children's photos, users have access to information on what to do if your child is missing, what to do if you have seen a missing child, general safety information and information pertaining to directly to child safety on the Internet. The site currently averages over 400,000 hits per month.
Within five months of going online, our web site played a role in the recovery of two children from Alberta. The children's' custodial father was searching for his son and daughter when he surfed the Internet hoping to find anyone or any organization who could help him. He came across Child Find Online, which provided him with the toll-free number. He called, and two weeks later the children were located.
Winnie The Pooh - Too Smart For Strangers
The Too Smart for Strangers program is a workshop for younger children. We use it as an instructional tool for pre-schools, daycares, and special interest groups such as sparks.
The program consists of a Winnie the Pooh video for children between the ages of 3 and 10 years of age. In the video Winnie the Pooh and all his friends teach children important lessons about how to deal with strangers and to protect themselves. The lessons have music, songs, dancing and fun. There are also real life situations acted out by children.
The Child Find “instructor” also talks to the children about good vs. bad strangers and ways to be safe. Each child is presented with our Child Find British Columbia participant certificate with their name and the date.
